As a public broadcaster, the BBC naturally wants to make its programmes as accessible to viewers as possible and is therefore committed to achieving its target to subtitle 100% of its television programmes by 2008 across all of its networks. With such a diverse range of channels; from the live news channels such as BBC News 24 to Parliamentary coverage and live sporting events, this ambition is certainly no easy task.
However, as a former part of the BBC, we have been providing a subtitling service to the broadcaster for over 25 years and feel that we have the experience and efficiency to ensure that the 100% target is met.
Our unique K-Live system enables almost immediate transmission of subtitles from any programme at any location, which means that we are able to support the BBC in its quest to subtitle rolling news channels across 17 different regions.
At Red Bee Media, we are dedicated to our long-standing relationship with the BBC and will continue to work closely with the BBC to improve subtitling standards and ensure its audiences receive nothing but the best service.
