Red Bee working together with UKTV developed the brand strategy, creative concepts, names and channel identities for
each of the new channels. For the new documentary channel Eden carrying the strapline “One amazing world, one amazing
channel” the challenge was to create a distinctive channel identity and name that would set it apart from other
documentary channels. The launch of a new channel Blighty unites a wealth of British –focused documentaries,
travel, history and comedy all wrapped up in an inspiring and eccentric channel identity. 4 idents were created
that feature typically British themes – Seaside, Rain, Curry and Tea – but all with a contemporary twist. Finally
Yesterday carrying the strap line “Where the past is always present” completes the factual portfolio. It is a
channel that unites viewers with all factual and social aspects of the past. With an OSP that captures the world
defining eras from Ancient Egypt to WWII and idents that juxtapose eras that encourage the audience to view the
past with fresh eyes.
