Welcome to Subville!
Subtv is an offspring of MTV3, the largest commercial tv-channel in Finland.
It was initially conceived as a slightly underground and alternative channel, hence the name Subtv.
We won the pitch to re-position the channel with a cross-platform identity which turned Subtv into more than just a TV identity and instead into something approaching a community brand. Moving away from a channel skewed towards younger men that talked at its audience, towards a brand which puts the audience in touch with other like-minded people who could then discuss the programmes and personalities they loved. Ultimately making Subtv a place for people to visit whenever they want to be entertained.
The new identity
Our solution for Subtv was based on the idea of "an escape from the mundane". We created a place where you could escape to be yourself, accessed online as well as through TV. Welcome to the colourful, hyper-real paradise that is 'Subville'. It's like nowhere you've ever been before.
With a combination of live action and 3D we gave the idents the feeling of a real place with a surreal twist. Each scenario was developed to appeal to a Finnish audience and to compliment the quirky nature of the channel.
The new identity, colour palette and look and feel have also been rolled out online.
