Website redesign and rebrand - TouchLocal

Can anyone recommend a good plumber?

TouchLocal can. They offer a unique service combining an online directory with a community, allowing people to search for local businesses throughout the UK based on the reviews, ratings and recommendations of fellow users.

Initially TouchLocal was comprised of three brands - Touch Local, Touch Life and Touch Search. By working closely with their team we were able to rationalise their existing structure into one brand - TouchLocal.

The new identity

It was vital to develop a new identity that struck the right balance between creating a personality for TouchLocal, whilst still promoting the functional benefits of the business listing directory.

We developed a sophisticated new logo and after an extensive and collaborative brand positioning exercise, our search for a new strapline was complete.

'Touchlocal.com Local businesses recommended by you'

The new identity and strapline have been used in a broad range of contexts and across a number of different platforms:

The new website

The website was completely redesigned and restructured addressing the overall information architecture, the interface, usability requirements and the presentation and management of content.

By using a Flash interface we made it possible for users to set up circles of online friends who had similar interests or who were geographically close by, so they could rate, recommend and ask questions about local businesses in their area.

So next time anyone sends an email around the office pleading for a good plumber, you know where to send them.
