ESPN Classic Sport is one of the fastest growing networks in Europe. It’s now available in over 40 countries, with local feeds playing out in seven different languages. It approached Red Bee Media to provide an innovative playout solution for the transmission of its classic sporting moments.

ESPN chose to work with us as the Broadcast Centre is ‘platform neutral’ – we are able to use any type of technology equiptment. ESPN wanted us to use ‘Omnibus Colossus’ and ‘Pixel Power Clarity’ to create on-screen graphics – very handy when you want to display player stats in real time.

Also, the efficiency of our ‘ingest once, use many’ digital architecture proved a real winner, providing a streamlined process for manipulation, playout and archiving of content.

In addition, Red Bee Media is able to provide a range of format options. So once archived, ESPN Classic Sport’s content can be transcoded for use on web, mobile and IPTV.
