Replays of famous sporting moments are offered to T–Online’s broadband video on–demand customers in Europe thanks to ESPN Classic’s use of Digital Hive, our media management system.

Digital Hive retrieves material from the Red Bee Media archive, previously ingested during transmission of ESPN’s four multi–lingual channels at our Broadcast Centre in London. The assets are then repurposed for web viewing (such as including front and end slides and removing commercial breaks) and then transcoded into web formats.

Finally, Red Bee Media sends the assets to T–Online via file delivery, which allows T–Online to publish the clips, stills and sports action direct to customers across Europe via their VoD platform.
