Playout (or Master Control, depending upon which side of the pond you’re on) is at the heart of our Broadcast Centre operation. It’s where we “play out” live or recorded programmes according to a pre-built channel schedule, via our tapeless automation system.
Channels can either be simple and non–reactive; or sophisticated, involving frequent editorial intervention. Options for complex schedules include live continuity, subtitles and graphics, not forgetting credit squeezes, interactive commercials and EPG triggers.
It goes without saying that storage of all media – programmes, commercials, promos and IDs – is completely digital, with ingest and QC straight–to–server.
Post-transmission logs are available which (although unlikely to make it to the Amazon bestsellers list) are commercial and legal gold–dust for our clients.

At the heart of our BBC playout solution is the Broadcast Centre and its Media Object Management System. This magically transforms our ability to ingest and manipulate content and make it available anywhere – to our creative and subtitling teams in the building, or to consumers on any platform.

At the heart of our tapeless solution for Virgin Media TV is a digital asset management system, which schedules and co–ordinates media between their HQ in central London and our Broadcast Centre six miles away.

With its access to multiple power supplies, state of the art construction and the potential to manage content remotely, our Broadcast Centre in West London provides the ultimate disaster recovery solution.

Gardening against the clock
For UKTV Style Gardens we provided the complete channel launch solution, including communication strategy, promotions, airtime allocations and playout. What’s more, because of our streamlined processes in the Broadcast Centre we were able to launch the channel in only seven weeks – record–breaking time.

Classic Playout!
Seeking an innovative playout and archive solution for their content, ESPN Classic Sport found our Broadcast Centre's ‘ingest once, use many’ architecture a real winner. What's more, combining Omnibus Colossus and Pixel Power Clarity to create on–screen graphics, we gave their viewers a fresh perspective on their output.
