Subtitling

Quality, speed and accuracy are the watchwords of the subtitling business and with over 20 years’ experience working for major broadcasters, we firmly believe we match up against all three.

Our 24/7 live captioning operation is unrivalled in scale and know–how, regularly handling sport, special events, rolling news and parliamentary channels. And when it comes to pre-recorded genres our portfolio is equally impressive, with high volume, high quality output in both the drama and comedy department.

So if you’re a broadcaster looking for a managed service to meet your regulatory obligations or a content owner looking for English or multilingual DVD captioning, we’d be delighted to take your call.

The BBC naturally wants to make its programmes as accessible to viewers as possible. As a former part of the BBC, we have been providing a subtitling service to the broadcaster for over 25 years and feel that we have the experience and efficiency to ensure that it achieves the target of subtitling 100% of its television programming by 2008.

Seeking subtitling and signing for their portfolio of music channels (The Box, Smash Hits, to name but two), Emap turned to our expert team at Red Bee Media. For with years of Top of the Pops subtitling under their belts, what they don’t know about deciphering a strangled lyric simply isn’t worth transcribing. And when it comes to signing, our team has a unique experience in meeting the linguistic challenges of music's metaphors and idioms.

Specifically, in live and pre–recorded subtitling our development of cutting edge speech recognition technology has allowed us to radically improve the efficiency, speed and cost.
