The Olympic Challenge
Piero is the decathlete gymnast of sports analysis, renowned for its multi-sport versatility and audience thrilling flexibility. The London 2012 Games, which kick off in its home town this week, will test it at the highest international level yet.
The Piero system already commands world championship medals in the broadest range of sports such as Football (top tool at 2010 South Africa World Cup), Rugby (top tool at 2011 New Zealand World Cup) and Basketball (top tool at 2012 March Madness). It also supports a large portfolio of other sports such as Handball, Lacrosse, Netball. 19 in all.
The Olympics is by far the biggest challenge yet. A number of broadcasters, NBC in USA, NHK in Japan, BBC in UK will be using Piero to enhance their Olympic broadcasts. In preparing for the greatest sporting event that exists, we literally sat down with tapes of every single one of the 36 Olympic sports and tried Piero out on them. Some sports were old hat eg. Football, Basketball and Tennis. Others worked just fine building off the functionality of similar sports eg. Table Tennis and Water Polo. Some required a bit of creativity, while others required some very special development eg. Diving and Athletics. The most ambitious broadcaster is NBC who will be using Piero on virtually every sport in its extensive NBCSports.com coverage.
Stay tuned for many gold medal performances by Piero in the fortnight
ahead.
