Beijing Olympics 2008

Jobs don’t get much bigger than a commission from China’s CCTV, the largest TV network in the world. CCTV briefed us to create and produce the opening title sequence for its flagship Olympic programming, along with a comprehensive package of around 300 information graphics.

We designed an over-arching graphic concept for all CCTV’s programme graphics, with templates to cover a huge range of events, schedules, competitors, medal tables, news and results. We integrated these templates in a rendering system for instant use in a live environment.

CCTV’s Olympic programming spanned several of its nationwide channels including its dedicated Olympic Channel, which covered around 18 hours of Olympics footage per day. Given CCTV’s vast coverage, our work was seen by an audience of around 1.3 billion people.
