As the long-term media-management and playout specialists for the BBC, we were delighted to join them on a new adventure: a groundbreaking journey into the sparkling world of high definition.
The Challenge
To pioneer and test HD delivery of programmes for the BBC and establish technical benchmarks and protocols for launch of full-scale service.
The Solution
In 2005, we began a trial service on the DSat, DTT and DCab platforms. Programming was landmark and event driven. In March 2008, the service became a full scale HD channel, offering a varied mix of programming seven nights a week. The following year we brought VoD HD to BBC iPlayer.
The Result
In November 2010, BBC HD finally came of age with the launch of BBC One HD. In partnership with the client, our technical expertise and innovation made it possible.
