Our goal was to drive credit back to the BBC for commissioning Elbow, one of the biggest bands in Britain, to specially compose the Olympic theme tune, First Steps.
THE CHALLENGE:
The key challenge was that there was no promotional airtime available.
THE SOLUTION:
On behalf of the BBC, Red Bee gains exclusive access to Elbow; recordings with the BBC Philharmonic; ‘First Steps’ Gospel Choir; and animation director Pete Candeland at Passion Pictures and produces a ten minute documentary for the BBC to playout during the coverage and online.THE RESULT:
A gripping, funny and intimate documentary that tells the story of the creation of Elbow’s incredible Olympic theme.
