Piero makes its way to Italy

We were delighted when Sky Italia became the first commercial broadcaster to be seduced by Piero’s 3D charms. We adore early adopters.

Sky Italia bought their first Piero system from us just in time to play an eye-catching role covering Italy’s World Cup winning campaign. They’ve since used it to great effect across Serie A, Champions League and the UEFA EURO Championships. Star pundits Gianluca Vialli and Paolo Rossi are big fans and exploit its great versatility to explore tactical plays and crucial decisions.

Sky Italia have worked closely with us to expand Piero’s capabilities. They specifically commissioned a new touchscreen to enhance analysis and give their football experts more flexibility and control.

Piero has been recognised throughout the industry as a groundbreaking product that really adds to viewers’ enjoyment and understanding of sport. It won both the IBC Innovation Award for Content Creation and the Cable and Satellite International Award for Product of the Year. More importantly, since Sky Italia came on board, it’s been bought and adopted by a host of sportscasters in around 20 countries including; ITV Sport, Al Jazeera, Canal+ France, TV Globo, Viasat and RTE.
