Red Bee Media is introducing Nucleus – a next generation Media Management Platform based on unified hybrid cloud technology, supporting consistent and location-independent media management services for broadcasters and content providers. As an evolution of the company’s existing Media Management Platform CMPP, Nucleus is currently serving leading broadcasters such as BBC Creative, with a few new customers onboarding now. Nucleus will be showcased at IBC 2018 in Amsterdam on the Red Bee Media stand and marks a major investment in delivering agile and flexible Media Management Services.

At IBC 2018 Red Bee Media is showcasing the Nucleus Services Portfolio, which includes availability of on-demand Cloud Transcoding, Auto QC services, DRM Encryption and integration with 50+ VOD/Linear publishing points.

The Nucleus Platform will underpin Red Bee Media Management Services – supporting the delivery of managed services in Media & Asset Management, Secure Storage & Archiving, Media & Metadata Enrichment VOD/Linear Content Aggregation, Content Encryption and Content Editing. With quick onboarding and consumption based monthly pricing, the users will have access to a range of content lifecycle services, as modular or end-to-end packages.

With the evolution of Nucleus and the introduction of hybrid cloud technology, the platform will bring greater flexibility to operations, cost control and system resilience, leveraging public cloud elasticity and scalability. The platform supports third-party services via a powerful open architecture.

The platform Nucleus is based upon has been used to provide media management services to broadcasters since 2015 – including BBC Creative. For BBC Creative, Nucleus today provides cloud-based archive of finished promos with accessible browse versions and the ability to retrieve and manage content. Finished promos are automatically distributed to BBC end points under Nucleus workflow control.
